New Leadership at Vocollect Japan

Vocollect has appointed  Masahiko “Masa” Uchida of Tokyo to the position of Managing Director of Vocollect Japan, Inc.   In this capacity, he has full executive responsibility for Vocollect business across Japan and South Korea.

Uchida comes to Vocollect from Informatica Japan K. K. in Tokyo, where he has served as Japan Country Manager since early 2006. Prior to joining Informatica Japan K. K., he was the Tokyo-based Area Vice President with Cognos K. K., overseeing a 40-member staff.  He joined Cognos in 2004 and held several roles with increasing responsibility before being named Area Vice President.

Before his affiliation with Cognos K.K., for 10 years he held positions with progressive levels of responsibility at Oracle Corporation Japan in Tokyo, with his final role being Director of Business Development, Business Operations. He began his career with a nine-year stint at Digital Equipment Corporation in Yokohama, Japan. He holds a B.A. degree in law from Kokugakuin University in Tokyo and is fully fluent in both English and Japanese.

In announcing the appointment, Joe Pajer, chief operating officer and president, Vocollect Supply Chain Solutions, said, “Vocollect is extremely fortunate to welcome someone with Masa Uchida’s depth of expertise to the executive ranks of the company. He has an impressive track record in building strong reseller relationships and in growing and servicing customer accounts.” Uchida will also assume a position on the Board of Directors of Vocollect Japan, Inc.

“Vocollect’s industry-leading “hands-free and eyes-free” supply chain voice solutions can be a tremendous asset for Japanese enterprises that want to spend less and do more,” said Uchida. “My goals for this position will be to help Japanese businesses achieve healthy growth and strong operational efficiencies and to make Vocollect Japan the dominant provider of voice solutions across Japan and South Korea.”

Vocollect Japan was established in late 2006. Over the past years, the company has seen a significant shift in the Japanese and Korean markets’ acceptance of voice as a technology that solves business challenges and increasing growth in the number of customers across diverse industries, including IHI Construction and Kanda Corporation in Japan and Lotte Mart in South Korea.
