New POS Application Printer from Citizen

A new printer designed to speed up Point of Sale applications has just been introduced by Citizen Systems Europe. The CT-S801 is designed for simple operation and comes with an LCD display and other user friendly features. The new  printer has been specifically developed for printing receipts and tickets in retail environments and queue management systems.

With a print speed of 300mm/sec, the CT-S801 is one of the fastest printers in its class. The machine can accommodate media from 58 – 83mm in width and paper thickness from 65 - 150μm for maximum flexibility. Due to its internal power supply and the ability to be wall mounted, the printer can be used comfortably in cash register environments where space is limited.

The CT-S80 printer’s LCD display can be used to set all of the configurations. In the event of an error, the backlight changes to red and delivers information in simple language, making troubleshooting simple. Maintenance is also made easy; a paper cover damper allows the paper roll to be changed safely, while the cutter and thermal head can be changed without special tools thanks to Citizen’s snap-in system.

 The cutter in the new CT-S801 cuts twice as fast as existing models (0.5 s/cut) for greater efficiency in POS applications. It can also be used for either full or partial cuts to issue coupons as attachments to receipts, an increasingly popular requirement in supermarkets and petrol stations. Furthermore, the printer driver now offers the ability to produce different types of coupon based on keywords contained in the receipt.

The new printer features all of the standard interfaces, and can be equipped with Powered USB or a USB interface with an integrated USB hub, so that other USB devices can be connected to the printer easily where there is not enough space available. External serial devices, such as customer pole displays, can also be connected.
